LGBTQ+ Latinx folks making a difference in the District of Columbia

LULAC Lambda has awarded 15 scholarships totaling nearly $20,000 since 2018. We support local excellence by uplifting scholars who have a made a difference in school and in the community. Click here.

Our membership provides events for fellowship centered around culture, music and art. One popular event that we host is our annual Tamalada. Members learn how to make tamales from all over Latin America.

LULAC Lambda members volunteer at DC high schools to mentor Latinx youth with a professional speaking series, field trips to universities and community service projects. LULAC Lambda also funds an afternoon snack.

On September 25, DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb addressed DC LULAC (LULAC Lambda, LULAC 11041, and American University LULAC) at El Tamarindo restaurant. He discussed his office's work in ensuring business honesty, keeping the executive branch in check, and public safety, while also resisting federal overreach.
